About Smritsavant

Smritsavant is built by a two-person team. One of us writes the code; the other runs the business. We answer our own support email, and there is no growth department to please.

The name comes from Sanskrit — smriti (स्मृति), memory — because that's what the product is: a memory that stays yours. We started building it after one too many tools asked us to choose between modern AI features and keeping a decade of private notes off other people's servers. For note-taking, that trade stopped being necessary; the models got small enough to run where the notes already live.

The stance

• Privacy is architecture, not policy. The AI runs on your device; a test suite fails our build if telemetry appears. The mechanisms matter more than our word.
• Data ownership includes the exit. Open formats, an export CLI, and docs for the schema — leaving must always work.
• Honest copy. Prices in plain arithmetic, trade-offs on the front page, acomparison page that tells you when to buy someone else's product. Anything less would be incompatible with asking you to trust us with your thinking space.
• One-time purchases. We'd rather earn a new purchase with a great major version than hold your notes to a monthly toll.
